Bleached Identity

These audio narratives are from the Bleached Identity project. It consists of audio interviews from thirteen Jamaicans across generations, skin tones, gender identities, and social backgrounds, capturing their perspectives on the physical and psychological impact of colorism and the irreversible damage of skin bleaching.

 

​The audios are divided into three different themed narratives: Informalities, Formalities, and Impulsive. Informalities consist of planned interviews with selected participants, Formalities consist of interviews with random people on the streets, and Impulsive captures me visiting multiple stores, inquiring about skin lightening products.
